The French Ministry of Defense has accepted into service a new medium-range air-to-ground missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the ASMPA-R.
The ministry announced this after the second test launch of the missile from a Rafale fighter.
“This launch follows the signing by the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs of the document for its entry into operational service on November 10, 2025 in the French Naval Nuclear Aviation (FANU)“, the press release said.
At the end of October, the ministry announced the acceptance into service of a new nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile, M51.3. These missiles will be deployed on four Triomphant-class nuclear submarines of the French Navy.
