North threatens South: Nuclear dominoes coming if you accept US nuclear submarines - 1

The US approval of South Korea's bid to build nuclear submarines will lead to a "nuclear domino" effect in the region. Pyongyang warned this, quoted by AFP.

"The US has approved Seoul's possession of a nuclear submarine, which is a serious development that destabilizes military security not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in the Pacific Ocean, and provokes an uncontrollable nuclear situation on a global scale," said an article published by the Central News Agency.

According to it, the appearance of a nuclear submarine in South Korea "will inevitably cause a "nuclear domino effect" in the region and will lead to a more serious arms race".

According to Pyongyang, the US, ignoring the danger of a global nuclear arms race, has also approved uranium enrichment and secondary processing of nuclear waste for Seoul, thus "helping the Republic of Korea to become a "semi-nuclear state".

The agency notes that the allied relations between Seoul and Washington are not mutually beneficial and equal, and calls them "master-servant relations" that protect only the interests of the US and ignore the interests of South Korea.

According to the Central Asian National Security Agency, the desire for confrontation with the DPRK is also confirmed by the fact that in the agreement on the results of the summit between the leaders of the US and South Korea, they firmly promised "complete denuclearization of DPRK".

Last week, the White House released a press release with the results of the second summit between South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and US President Donald Trump. As part of the agreement, South Korea committed to investing $150 billion in the US shipbuilding sector, spending $25 billion by 2030 on purchasing US military equipment, and allocating $33 billion to support US forces in South Korea.

The South Korean president also announced plans to increase defense spending to 3.5% of GDP as soon as possible.

For its part, the US agreed to cooperate in fuel supplies for South Korea's nuclear submarine construction project and expressed its support for Seoul's efforts to provide uranium enrichment and spent nuclear fuel reprocessing capabilities.

At the same time, Washington stressed its commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea through the permanent presence of US forces in Korea.
