„The US government is threatening Venezuela with an armed attack to satisfy the interests of large oil corporations, in particular ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil, who are leaders in the theft of Venezuelan oil. The children of American families will be forced to risk their lives to fill the pockets of oil company shareholders with billions of dollars, and thousands of Venezuelan and American families will be destroyed. Blood for oil is not a noble proposition, but an undignified and unacceptable one. The war for oil is a death sentence that has already been pronounced against Iraq, Syria, Libya and many others,“ he said at a Security Council meeting.
A Venezuelan diplomat is confident that “the majority of US citizens oppose any attempt to start a war against Venezuela and demand an end to aggression, rejecting the destructive ideology of endless wars“.
