The Pentagon is considering sending approximately 10,000 troops to the Middle East amid US President Donald Trump's statements about progress in talks with Iran.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing its sources.

According to them, the reinforcement of US troops in the region could include infantry and armored vehicles, in addition to the 5,000 marines and several thousand paratroopers already deployed in the region.

Russia has requested closed consultations with the UN Security Council over attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran, including educational and health facilities.

This was announced to reporters by Yevgeny Uspensky, press secretary of Russia's permanent representative to the UN.

“The Russian Federation has requested closed consultations with the UN Security Council due to the ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran, including educational and health facilities,“ he said.

According to him, the US presidency has scheduled the meeting for 10:00 a.m. New York time (16:00 Bulgarian time) on March 27.

The Thai-flagged cargo ship “Mayuri Nari“, which was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz two weeks ago, is stranded off Qeshm Island in Iran, the “Tasnim“ news agency reported.

According to the agency, the “Mayuri Nari“ is stranded in the waters off Ramcha, a city in the southern part of Qeshm.
