Zelensky: Ukraine produces so many weapons that it is starting to export them - 1

Ukraine is preparing to start exporting weapons, after its military production already exceeds the needs of its own armed forces. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by DPA, reports BTA.

“In some sectors of arms production, we currently have up to 50% overcapacity“, he said in his traditional evening video address.

According to him, the export of Ukrainian weapons will now become a reality, but supplying the army remains an absolute priority.

“The needs of the Ukrainian military will always come first. They will receive everything they need, and the excess production will go for export,“ Zelensky emphasized.

He announced that Kiev is already holding talks with countries from the Middle East, Europe and the Caucasus within the framework of a special cooperation format called “drone deals“.

“We also have a proposal for our American partners on the table,“ the Ukrainian president added.

According to him, Ukraine plans to export drones, defense systems and other types of weapons, with the goal of directing additional revenues to strengthening the defense sector.

“The conditions must be favorable for Ukraine, there must be strict control, and export revenues must strengthen our defense. "And so it will be," Zelensky said.

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Kiev has significantly expanded its own military production, and now it is clearly seeking to turn this capacity into an economic resource.
