Taiwan tested its air defense capabilities in exercises early this morning, using surface-to-air missiles. and deploying air, land and naval formations, saying it would increase the frequency of such maneuvers given China's increased military activity in the Taiwan Strait, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Taiwan's Air Force Command said in a brief statement that between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this morning, it had carried out "all-out anti-aircraft firefights" using "Sky Bow" ("Sky Bow"), Taiwanese production, as well as American missile systems "Patriot" in interaction with combat aircraft and ships.
The drills were intended to "test the joint air defense force command" and the results were rated as "good," said a statement from Taiwan's military.
