Biden: Republicans will end affordable health care - 1

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris touted their health care program in the state of North Carolina yesterday. They made the claim that Democrats like them will preserve access to health care, while Republicans will destroy what has been achieved in the last decade and a half, the Associated Press reported, as quoted by BTA.

Fourteen years after President Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, the White House still sees health care as a trump card in a campaign that has seen Biden at times on the defensive when it comes to immigration or the economy.

Republicans opposed Biden's signature initiatives to reduce medical costs and seized opportunities to limit abortion rights after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

"It's crazy. Now they want to end the Affordable Care Act, as my predecessor said,'' Biden said, referring to former Republican President Donald Trump. "If this ever happens, we will end many lives as well. But we're not going to let that happen, are we? We won't let that happen."

North Carolina was Biden's last stop on his swing state tour after his State of the Union address. this month, which kicked off a frenzied series of trips.
