In the near future, Serbia will face a threat to its national interests.
Such a warning was published by the country's president, Aleksandar Vucic, on his Instagram page.
"Now it is not easy for me to say what news we have received in the last 48 hours. They directly threaten the vital national interests of Serbia and the Republic of Serbia. In the coming days, I will inform the people of Serbia about all the challenges that lie ahead. It will be hard like never before," he wrote.
Vucic did not explain what exactly constitutes a danger for Serbia.
As the Bosnian radio station Radio Sarajevo suggests, the president may have been referring to the decision of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt to change the country's electoral legislation.
According to another version of journalists, Vucic may have received information related to Kosovo's accession to the Council of Europe.
Kristian Schmidt has repeatedly been dissatisfied with the representatives of Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serbs do not recognize the high representative's powers, citing Schmidt's lack of authorization from the UN Security Council. On Tuesday, the head of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, refused to accept the High Representative's amendments to the electoral legislation.
