An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 has occurred off the coast of the Philippines, the German Center for Earth Research (GFZ) reports.
The epicenter was located 63 kilometers southeast of the island of Leyte, and the source was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The Philippine Seismological Agency warned of possible damage from aftershocks.
The island nation is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, so earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur frequently.
