Three Greeks were arrested in Alexandroupolis for kidnapping a Bulgarian woman, BNR reports. The victim was able to report to the police, which led the uniformed officers to the scene of the crime.
According to information from the interrogations of the arrested, the Bulgarian woman was attracted to arrive in Greece with the promise of a promising job and good income. After crossing the border, they take away her personal documents, forcing her to work as a maid in several houses without pay.
Physical pressure was exerted on her. They force her to marry one of the kidnappers, which does not happen due to the quick intervention of the police.
The arrested persons have been handed over to the prosecutor's office in Alexandroupolis on charges of kidnapping and human trafficking, as well as illegally taking another person's personal documents.
