Russia will not participate in the Swiss conference and any other events for Ukraine, where the “peace formula“ of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This is what Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Bosnian television channel ATV.
„When our Swiss colleagues state their desire to invite Russia to the first conference, they are not telling the truth. We will not participate in events that in any way promote the “peace formula” of Vladimir Zelensky“, Lavrov said. - Everyone has known this for a long time. We are seriously open to negotiations based on the realities. Everyone knows this too, and with facts.“ According to the minister, “despite loud statements that this will be a new initiative dedicated to the development of generally acceptable approaches, this is not true.“
Lavrov explained that for this "plan" the head of the Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, told him at the end of January in New York, while they participated in the meetings of the UN Security Council.
„I immediately tried to bring him to the ground and explained to him that no one will allow him to move away from Zelensky's formula. Ultimately, this includes surrendering Russia, paying reparations, a tribunal over the Russian leadership, and much more. Cassis assured us we were wrong. They say that Switzerland, as a neutral country, will do everything to ensure that the conversation is based on realism”, noted the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"But the Swiss Confederation is no longer a neutral state. "She is in the first ranks of those who support and arm the regime in Kiev," Lavrov stressed. “This country takes the toughest position towards Russia, including regarding the introduction of new sanctions.“
In an attempt to emphasize Switzerland's independence, the organizers have highlighted three areas: nuclear safety, food security in the context of navigation and humanitarian issues, he said.
