The Democratic leader of the House of US representatives Hakim Jeffries did not rule out that the US will have to send troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone in the event of Kiev's defeat.
"We cannot allow Ukraine to lose, because if that happens, there is a strong possibility that America will have to intervene in the conflict - not only with our money, but also with our troops." he said in an interview with the television channel CBS.
Jeffries also claimed that a pro-Russian faction was gaining momentum in the Republican Party, which he blamed for delaying a deal on additional funding for Kiev's military needs. According to him, this faction “does not want to support Ukraine and believes that Russia is not an enemy of the United States”. He believes the leader of this faction is Marjorie Taylor-Green MP.
The US administration has repeatedly stated that the United States has no intention of deploying troops to Ukraine.
