Britain's King Charles III, who has returned to his public engagements, made a surprise visit to barracks in the county of Hampshire, BNR reported.
During the visit, the king joked with soldiers that they had "let him out of the cage", referring to his recent isolation following his cancer diagnosis. He attended the 3rd Royal School of Military Engineering at Gibraltar Barracks in Minley.
The school was established in September 1939 as a combat engineering center of excellence. The school provides junior and senior engineer level courses as well as combat engineer courses, teaching skills such as bridge building, demolition and water supply.
The royal visit comes two days after Prince Harry's spokesman said his father was too busy to see the Duke of Sussex while he was in London to attend an event to mark the decade of the Invictus Games (Invictus).
