Over 10,000 people have been evacuated during the ongoing evacuation from areas of Ukraine's Kharkiv region bordering Russia. This was announced by the head of the military administration of the region, Oleg Sinegubov. “A total of 10,314 people were evacuated from Chuguevsky, Kharkiv, Bogodukhiv regions”, he wrote on his Telegram channel.
A day before, Sinegubov reported on almost 10 thousand people taken from the same three regions.
Kiev admits that the situation in the Kharkiv region is extremely tense for Ukrainian troops. On May 14, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been forced to “move to more advantageous positions” in the region of Volchansk and Lukyantsi. The military leadership also announced the transfer of additional reserves to the region. At the same time, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, admitted that some of these parts are being removed from other directions. He held a meeting of the headquarters of the Supreme Commander in Kharkiv on May 16 and called this area extremely difficult.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of a number of settlements in the Kharkiv region, and on May 14 - the continued advance into the depths of the enemy's defenses.
