British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps announced the shipment of 80 anti-aircraft missiles defense, 1 million ammunition and 20 BvS 10 Viking amphibious armored vehicles for Ukraine, dariknews.bg reported.
The delivery from the UK also includes unmanned aerial vehicles, body armor and equipment needed for demining.
"This is exactly what Britain has done today," the defense minister wrote on his X profile, attaching a photo with information about the supply. The figures are for the three weeks since Britain increased its financial aid to Ukraine to 3 billion pounds ($3.8 billion).
The chart shows that by the end of May, the UK intends to send Ukraine 20 more air defense missiles, bringing the number of missiles to 100. London has transferred to Kiev 20 mine clearance systems, 4,000 reconnaissance drones, spare parts for equipment and military ammunition.
On May 3, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron pledged during a visit to Kiev to continue providing 3 billion pounds ($3.8 billion) a year to help Ukraine for as long as needed. He also stated that Ukraine could strike Russian territory with weapons supplied by the UK.
In January, Britain approved 2.5 billion pounds ($3.17 billion) in military aid to Ukraine in 2024 and 2025. In April, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced plans to increase aid to $617 million. .
According to the Prime Minister, London will transfer to Kiev 400 vehicles, 1,600 weapons and 4 million rounds of ammunition.
