Russia captured two more Ukrainian villages, Zelensky arrives in Brussels - 1

The Russian Ministry of Defense said yesterday that Russian forces have captured two villages in Ukraine, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

According to Moscow, we are talking about the settlements of Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region and Netaylovye in the Donetsk region.

Late on Sunday, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that Ukrainian forces repelled an attack near the village of Ivanivka, which is located east of the city of Kupyansk.

Yesterday evening, the Ukrainian General Staff said that Ukrainian forces repelled seven Russian attacks in the Kupyansk sector.

Russian forces scored "partial success" in one of the regions of the Kupyansk sector, as the Ukrainian forces are "taking measures to stabilize the situation and to prevent an advance from the enemy", the Ukrainian General Staff also said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will arrive in Belgium today and sign a security agreement with Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croix, the Belgian government announced, quoted by Reuters, quoted by BTA.

The Ukrainian leader is trying to secure additional military aid for his country from Western allies while Kiev's forces hold back the advance of Russian forces.

Yesterday Zelensky visited Spain, which promised to provide Ukraine with military aid worth one billion euros this year, under a security agreement between Kiev and the government of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Ukraine has signed a series of such agreements with its Western partners, who have promised long-term assistance in the form of arms supplies and training for Ukrainian soldiers.

Zelensky and De Croix will hold a joint press conference in Brussels, the Belgian government said in a written statement.
