Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate in the G7 summit next month in Italy, the office announced today of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, quoted by France Press and BTA.
The meeting of the heads of state and government, which is expected to be dedicated to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip, will take place from June 13 to 15 in Borgo Egnazia, a luxury resort near Bari, Puglia region (Southern Italy).< /p>
In addition to Italy, the G7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Great Britain and the USA.
The Italian Prime Minister spoke with the Turkish President and thanked him for "confirming his participation" in the summit. They discussed "the state of bilateral relations and the main international crisis scenarios," Meloni's office also announced.
Pope Francis is also expected to attend the G-7 forum, who will participate in a meeting dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will also participate in the meeting in Italy.
