One person was killed overnight in a series of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, the country's state media reported , quoted by DPA and BTA.
According to the National News Agency of Lebanon (NNA), several people were also injured in the attacks in various places in southern Lebanon.
A building in the coastal town of Aadloun was destroyed and dozens of others were damaged, the NNA reported, specifying that two motorcyclists were injured in the strikes against a nearby town. The Israeli army claims that the men in question were members of the pro-Iranian armed movement "Hezbollah".
Earlier today, the military announced that they carried out overnight attacks against targets of "Hezbollah" in the Adlun and Qana area, among other places, in response to earlier attacks on northern Israel.
The Israeli strikes hit several missile sites previously used by Hezbollah, which is an ally of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, officials said.
In turn, "Hezbollah" claimed responsibility for today's attacks in northern Israel. In response to the attack on the two motorcyclists, the armed militia said it carried out an attack with attack drones against Israeli military targets near Kibbutz Ifta in northern Israel.
Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip in October last year, in the border area between Israel and Lebanon, there have been daily clashes between the Israeli army and "Hezbollah", which is also supported by other groups.
Mutual cross-border shelling caused a large number of casualties and serious destruction in settlements on both sides of the border. About 150,000 people have been evacuated or have left the fighting zone, DPA notes.
