"The United States is adjusting its policy in Ukraine, including the use of American weapons, as conditions on the battlefield change. "I will not preempt decisions, but as this war has progressed, the conditions on the battlefield have changed and we have changed our approach in support of Ukraine, and I do not expect that approach to change in the coming weeks or months. We will see how the situation will develop", Kirby commented, answering the question of whether the White House will decide on a possible expansion of the zone of attacks against the Russian Federation with American weapons.
"Of course, we will discuss this with the Ukrainians, I can't say now if this will lead to any further changes in policy on the use of American weapons," the White House spokesman added. Kirby has assured that the US will not give up its support for Ukraine.
The representative of the White House recalled that Washington did not authorize the use of American ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles to strike Russian territory. "Our policy regarding the ban on the use of ATACMS or long-range strikes in Russia has not changed," he categorically emphasized.
