Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan today held high-level talks with representatives of China on the second day of his official visit to the country, Anatolia Agency reported, quoted by BTA.
Fidan arrived in Beijing for a three-day official visit and was welcomed by Han Zheng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party and vice president of the country.
Fidan later met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to discuss bilateral relations as well as current regional and international issues. The two are expected to give a joint press conference.
After his meetings in Beijing, the Turkish foreign minister will visit Urumqi and Kashgar later today, where he will stay until tomorrow.
Diplomatic relations between Turkey and China were established in 1971, and bilateral relations have been raised to the level of “strategic cooperation” in 2010
