The Greek island of Crete experienced an earthquake that shook the area, but fortunately left no damage or casualties behind. The tremor was registered at 10:01 a.m. local time with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale, reported the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), a reliable source of data on seismic activity, reports Focus.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 130 kilometers southeast of Heraklion, the main administrative center of Crete, and 87 kilometers south of the city of Ierapetra.
The earthquake did not cause any damage to buildings or infrastructure, and there were no injuries to residents or visitors to the island.
