An earthquake of 6.3 on the Richter scale shook the Arequipa region in the south of Peru today, the National Geophysical Institute reported, quoted by France Press and BTA.
According to the same source, the earthquake, whose epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean near the province of Caravelli in the Arequipa region, had an epicenter at a depth of 25 km.
Authorities have not issued a tsunami warning.
