Yemen's Houthi rebels are believed to have sunk a second ship in the Red Sea, the UK Merchant Shipping Organization (UKMTO) reported. Reuters, quoted by BTA.
The Houthis and other sources previously identified the vessel in question as a cargo ship owned by a Greek company named "Tutor". It was hit on June 12 by a missile attack and a surface-to-air drone attack and has since begun to fill with water.
"Military authorities report marine debris and oil sighted at the last reported location of ("Tutor")", the British company said in an update.
So far, there is no comment from the company that owns the cargo ship.
One crew member, who is believed to have been in the engine room of the "Tutor" at the time of the attack, remains missing.
It is the second merchant ship sunk by the Houthis since November, when Yemeni rebels began attacking vessels, saying their actions were in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The British ship "Rubimar" sank in the Red Sea on the second of March, about two weeks after being overwhelmed by the Houthis.
