Russia's hybrid war opens a second front of NATO's eastern border. Destabilizing operations in the Baltic Sea region are intensifying, writes Bloomberg.
"The Russian border guards committed a provocation on the evening of May 23. The Estonians have reacted, but they have realized that this is a hybrid act of aggression and a signal to the Baltic states," writes Bloomberg.
Shortly after midnight, several masked men in boats began removing orange navigational aids on the Narva River, which separates Estonia from Russia, a body of water that demarcates NATO's reach.
This incident was registered as one of a series of acts aimed at provoking and destabilizing the Baltic states bordering Russia and Belarus.
"Overall, these episodes do not approach the classic attacks that would trigger a collective NATO response, but have become more frequent since Russia began the war in Ukraine,", the article also states.
