An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 was recorded in the early hours of today in the Greek island of Crete on the Richter scale, reported the local newsletter Kathimerini, drawing attention to the natural phenomenon.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 25 kilometers south/southwest of Paleochora, a village in the Chania region, as detailed by the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory of Athens.
It occurred relatively close to the surface, at a depth of 9.4 kilometers. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or damage following the earthquake. The society and structures of Crete seem to have withstood the seismic activity without any adverse effects.
