The thirty-first annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will be held in Bucharest from June 29 to July 3. The theme of the forum will be "The role of the OSCE in the current security architecture: a parliamentary perspective", the organizers announced to BTA.
Our country will be represented by Stanislav Atanasov – head of the OSCE delegation to Bulgaria and deputy chairman of the DPS, and by Ekaterina Zaharieva - deputy head of the delegation and a representative of the GERB-SDS, informed the Embassy of Bulgaria in Bucharest.
The first day of the event (June 29) will begin with the renewal of the mandate of the Secretary General of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, with practical and procedural matters and the approval of the budget for the financial year 2024-2025.
The second day and the third day (June 30 and July 1) will be devoted to political, economic and humanitarian issues and discussions on science, technology and the environment.
An open general debate on the situation in the Middle East is planned for July 2. Election monitoring activities will also be commented on.
The meeting will conclude on July 3 with the adoption of a declaration that will contain recommendations in the fields of security, human rights and economic and environmental issues.
The session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will be held in the building of the Romanian Parliament - the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon in the USA.
