Five people died in a fire in a dormitory near Moscow, operational services informed TASS.
"Five people died as a result of a fire in a hostel on Keramicheskaya street in the city of Balashikha. Three were saved, resuscitation is currently being carried out with them, 10 people were evacuated, said the interlocutor of the agency.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia confirmed the information to TASS, specifying that the fire was burning on an area of 40 square meters. m. “At 00:14 Moscow time, the localization of the fire was announced, at 00:19 Moscow time – liquidation of the open burning", added the headquarters. The bodies of five people were found in the burning apartment on the second floor, the press service announced.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that the fire was extinguished by 63 firefighters and 23 units of equipment.
The building where the fire started is a two-story, old building built in 1949. TASS operational services reported that there was no fire extinguishing system in the dormitory. Already in 2016, the building has worn out by 63%, added a representative of the operating services.
The operational services of TASS reported that the cause of the fire was an electrical network failure.
