The administration of US President Joe Biden has proposed a new wording of one of the members of the proposed cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of hostages in an attempt to overcome differences between Israel and the Palestinian radical movement Hamas, the portal Axios reported with reference of its sources.

According to them, the work on the new wording was carried out jointly with the mediators in the negotiations, Qatar and Egypt. The talks will aim to establish precise conditions for the second phase, which includes achieving "sustainable peace" in Gaza, the portal writes.

Sources said that at the talks, Hamas wants to exclusively discuss the exchange of hostages, and Israel plans to raise the issue of the demilitarization of Gaza.

„The US is making every effort to find a formula that will allow us to conclude a deal”, the portal quoted one of the sources familiar with the progress of the negotiations. The second interlocutor said that if Hamas agreed to the new wording proposed by the United States, it would “allow a deal to be made”.
