The Russian frigate „ Admiral Gorshkov“ together with the sea tanker “Akademik Pashin“ have docked in Venezuela, the Northern Fleet confirmed to TASS, reports News.bg.

The ships, part of the Northern Fleet, are on a business visit to La Guaira, a port in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Their stop is part of a wider mission in the Atlantic Ocean, where they will continue their operations after their stay in Venezuela.

"Admiral Gorshkov" and the ships accompanying him set out on their voyage on the 17th of May. The trip also includes unofficial visits to other countries. For example, on June 12, the fleet stopped in Cuba, including the nuclear submarine "Kazan", the rescue tug "Nikolai Chiker", as well as the same frigate and tanker that docked in Venezuela. They are due to fly out of Havana on June 17.

"Admiral Gorshkov" is a state-of-the-art frigate equipped with the latest armaments. Among its arsenal are hypersonic missiles "Zircon" and "Caliber" cruise missiles.

The visit highlights current strategic moves and alliances in the global naval landscape, with Russia demonstrating its naval capabilities.
