Russia's Novorossiysk port operating normally after drone attacks - 1

The Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk is operating normally after a Ukrainian attempted maritime drone attack, reported Reuters, referring to the local administration, quoted by BTA.

"There are no restrictions. "Shipping is carried out in normal mode," the administration said in a statement quoted by the Interfax news agency.

Novorosiysk is the largest Russian port on the Black Sea and is a key point for the export of crude oil and petroleum products. It is also a transit point for oil from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

The mayor of Novorossiysk Andrey Kravchenko earlier today restricted access to the beaches. He later said all restrictions had been lifted and added that two commercial properties and one residential building were "minor" damaged in the attacks and that no one was injured.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces destroyed two naval drones in the direction of Novorossiysk.

The port was also attacked by drones in May, and then the authorities also temporarily closed it.

Agency Reuters notes that at the moment there is no comment from the side of Ukraine. Kiev claims that the attacks on Russia's military, transport and energy infrastructure are in response to Moscow's ongoing attacks on Ukrainian territory.
