French Prime Minister Gabriel Atal said he would resign today after his political power remained second in the final round of early parliamentary elections in the country, BTA reported.
Atal clarified that he will remain in office as long as necessary. In the following days, it is expected that the negotiations on the composition of the new French government will begin.
Turning a new page tonight. We have avoided the danger of the far-left or the far-right getting an absolute majority in parliament, Atal said. According to him, the election results are a victory for Europe.
