South Korean President Yun Suk-yeol and Minister- the president of Japan, Fumio Kishida, expressed their common concern about the relations between Russia and North Korea, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, referring to today's statement of the office of the South Korean head of state.
Seoul and Tokyo have agreed to continue their cooperation in the field of security, President Yun's office added. The two Asian leaders met on the sidelines of the NATO summit in the American capital Washington.
Meanwhile, China has been alarmed by the unusual entry of a Japanese destroyer squadron into Chinese waters near Taiwan earlier this month, Reuters reported. The Japanese Navy has not notified China, which has caused "serious concern" in Beijing, Chinese media reported late last night.
The squadron destroyer "Suzutsuki" entered the waters of China's Zhejiang Province on July 4. Beijing had announced that it could conduct military exercises in that water area at the time, Kyodo noted, citing unnamed diplomatic sources. The destroyer "Suzutsuki" was moving at a speed of 22 km/h.
