The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken the lead federal agency in the investigation into the shooting at a Donald Trump rally, in which the former Republican president was shot in the right ear, Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing an FBI statement.
The shooter is dead, one of the rally attendees was killed, and two others were injured.
"The FBI has assumed the role of lead federal agency in the investigation of the incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier today in Butler, Pennsylvania," the FBI said.
A CNN journalist reported that the FBI had identified the shooter, Reuters also reported.
According to sources cited by the CNN reporter, it is a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania.
