Russian state television openly threatens European capitals with nuclear annihilation to reduce support for Ukraine.
Propagandist Yevgeny Popov stated that nuclear missiles can be launched from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad towards Berlin, London, Warsaw, the Baltic capitals, as well as the Romanian capital Bucharest, located very close to the Bulgarian border.
Evgeny Popov, who is also a member of the State Duma, made this threat on primetime television. A map with the possible targets of a possible Russian nuclear strike was also shown.
„Special attention is paid to Britain, our traditional enemy... Britain is in the most vulnerable position – in general, three missiles are enough and this civilization will collapse,” said the TV host. Such threats on Russian television are not random at all, but reflect the Kremlin's official position.
Russia is trying to use nuclear blackmail to make NATO countries stop helping Ukraine, which was attacked by the Russian army in 2022. The full-scale war continues to this day.
European countries would put themselves at risk if they accept the deployment of long-range American missiles on their territory, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a few days ago. “We have enough potential to intercept hypersonic missiles. But the capitals of these European countries are potential victims," he commented to Russian state television.

Peskov noted that during the Cold War, American missiles in Europe were aimed at Russia, and Russian missiles at Europe, respectively. According to him, this has turned the countries of the Old Continent into a main target in the event of a potential conflict.
In response to the Kremlin's warning that the deployment of US missiles could put European capitals at risk, a US State Department spokesman said the United States and NATO “are not seeking military conflict with Russia... but any military action directed against a NATO ally would provoke a massive reaction."
Because of the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, NATO countries are strengthening their defense capabilities. Countries such as Finland and Sweden, which for decades maintained military neutrality, requested NATO membership because of the actions of the Putin regime.
