Biden realizes he may have to step down

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party, Nancy Pelosi, has expressed confidence that it is possible that Biden will be convinced to step down quite soon, writes in the "Washington Post", cited by Reuters.

The Associated Press reported that Pelosi showed Biden polls that said he was likely to lose the election.

Former US President Barack Obama, to whom the current owner of the White House was deputy for two terms, also expressed doubts about his chances.

Jamie Raskin, a Democrat who represents the state of Connecticut in the House of Representatives, meanwhile became the next representative of the party to call on Biden to step down, Reuters reported.

Against this background, former US President Donald Trump is preparing to officially receive the Republican nomination for the presidential election during the party's national convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump, who turned 78 last month, was defeated by Biden in the last election - in 2020.

The Republican's campaign "will not change significantly" if the Democrats change their presidential candidate, one of his closest advisers said in the meantime, quoted by France Press.
