A Vietnamese missile frigate arrived in the Russian port of Vladivostok for an official visit. This was reported by the Russian state news agency TASS, referring to the press service of the Pacific Fleet of Russia, reported “Reuters”, quoted by News.bg.
„The frigate “Hun Dao” arrived in Vladivostok today. from the Navy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on an official visit, the press service of the Pacific Fleet reported. The ship will remain in Russia until the end of July.
The frigate's arrival in Vladivostok comes about a month after President Vladimir Putin visited Vietnam, where he said he wanted to build a “reliable security architecture” in the Asia-Pacific region.
The frigate was built according to a Russian design and was ordered by the Vietnamese Navy in 2018.
According to Rosoboronoexport, the Russian defense exporter, the frigate is designed to search, track and counter surface, underwater and air targets. It is considered a light frigate with a displacement of up to 2500 tons.
