Since the spring, Russian missile attacks and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure have intensified, leading to repeated blackouts in many areas and forcing Kiev to resort to significant imports of electricity from the European Union, Reuters recalls.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force, cited by Ukrinform, reported that early this morning air defenses intercepted 20 Russian kamikaze drones. According to the military, an "Iskander-M" ballistic missile was launched on the territory of Ukraine. and 22 kamikaze drones of the "Shaheed" type were sent.
The missile was fired from Russia's Rostov region towards Ukraine's Donetsk region, and the kamikaze drones were sent from Cape Chauda on the Crimean peninsula and from the Russian city of Kursk. Twenty of the drones were shot down over Kherson, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, adds the Ukrainian intelligence agency.
