Russia's state news agency RIA released a video in which detained Yevgeny Serebryakov, responsible for the car bomb that wounded a Russian military intelligence officer in northern Moscow two days ago, says he carried out the attack on orders of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). "Reuters" however, he emphasizes that he cannot independently confirm the statements made by Serebryakov, quoted by News.bg.
In a video released by RIA, which has been edited in places to remove some references, Serebryakov said he was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence last year and asked to kill an "officer".
According to the detainee, he made a homemade bomb at the request of his Ukrainian supervisor and placed it under the vehicle of the unnamed officer.
Serebryakov explained that he was promised Ukrainian citizenship and $10,000 to $20,000 as a reward for his work.
We remind you that on July 24, a car bomb wounded two people, and the suspect Yevgeny Serebryakov fled to Turkey. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya later announced that a Russian citizen suspected of the attack had been arrested in Bodrum, having arrived from Moscow by plane.
According to Kommersant, one of the leading Russian newspapers, one of the wounded served in the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, commonly known as the GRU.
