German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock last night praised the US Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a woman of energy and a "true transatlantic" on the eve of the elections in the USA in November, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
Harris has experienced hatred and strong feelings in the past, Berbock said at a public discussion in the city of Essen as part of her summer tour of various regions of Germany. "This woman has that passion that she brings to the table and declares, "Now more than ever,", noted Berbock.
This is her particular strength, the German foreign minister pointed out, adding that she formed her impression of Harris as early as the Munich Security Conference in February.
Harris is a woman who gets results and is a "transatlantic through and through" who will continue to support not only Ukraine but also transatlantic security, Berbock said, adding that the US vice president is also in close contact with Republicans in the US.
Regardless of the outcome of the election, Germany and Europe must invest more in their own security, Berbock added, referring to an issue that has caused some concern in the past.
