Israeli warplanes broke the sound barrier over Beirut three times in less than 30 minutes, causing a loud rumble and sending people in the city into cover just before a planned speech by the leader of "Hezbollah" Hassan Nasrallah, reported Reuters.
Nasrallah's speech is scheduled for 17:00 local time (coincides with Bulgarian time). The reason for it is the completion of one week since the assassination of the top military commander of "Hezbollah". Fouad Shukr in an Israeli strike in a southern suburb of Beirut.
Earlier today, the Lebanese Shiite group said it had launched a series of drone attacks against northern Israel and warned that its response to Shukr's killing was yet to come.
"Hezbollah" indicated that it had sent a large number of drones against two military sites near the northern Israeli city of Akka and that it had attacked an Israeli military vehicle in another area of the country.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they have identified several enemy drones coming from Lebanon, intercepting one of them.
In the meantime, those hospitalized after the airstrikes of "Hezbollah" in the Upper Galilee, Northern Israel, there were seven, one of them in critical condition.
The Israeli army said that, according to initial reports, people were injured by an interceptor missile that "missed its target and crashed on the ground, injuring several civilians". The investigation into the case continues.
