Catalan separatist leader Carles Puigdemont appeared before supporters in Barcelona, after spending seven years in self-imposed exile and despite the warrant issued for his arrest, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Surrounded by his fellow party members from "Together for Catalonia", Puigdemont took a podium next to the Arc de Triomphe, which is located near the Catalan parliament.
"I came to remind you that we are still here,", the separatist leader addressed his supporters.
Police do not appear to have prevented his return, Reuters found.
