Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and other senior Ukrainian officials provided an update on the ongoing Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast.

Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces control 74 settlements in the Kursk region. It is not clear if he meant that they occur in 74 settlements or if he was referring to another type of geographical administrative unit.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), their surveillance systems showed that as of August 13, Ukrainian forces were advancing on 41 settlements in Kursk Oblast, although there are many extremely small settlements that ISW did not include in its idiosyncratic census.

The Russian military command is withdrawing some units from the Donetsk region to use in dealing with the Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region.

A few days ago, the Russian units advanced near Chasov Yar and southwest of the city of Donetsk, and the Ukrainian units moved in the direction of Siversk and in the western Zaporozhye region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense continues to use the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2024" in Moscow to expand its international ties in the field of defense.
