Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said today that Moscow is not ready to negotiate peace with Ukraine, given Kiev's attack on Russia's Kursk region, but that Russia is not withdrawing more his early proposals for peace, reported "Reuters", quoted by BTA.
"Given this adventure, we will not talk at this stage”, the representative of the Kremlin, quoted by TASS, told the channel “Shot” (SHOT) in "Telegram", answering a question about the possibility of negotiations.
Asked if proposals for a peace process announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June had fallen through, Ushakov said they had not. He added that Moscow will decide whether to maintain its position on the suspension of negotiations with Kiev according to the situation on the battlefield.
In June, Putin said Russia would end the war in Ukraine only if Kiev agreed to abandon its NATO membership ambitions and hand over four Moscow-claimed areas to Russia in their entirety. Kiev quickly rejected the demands, considering them tantamount to capitulation, recalls "Reuters".
