Robert's campaign staff F. Kennedy Jr. asked a court in Pennsylvania to remove his name from the ballots in the state and said he supports the candidacy of Donald Trump for the presidency of the United States, the Associated Press reported.
It is not yet clear whether this means that Kennedy is officially withdrawing from the presidential race. On Thursday, the independent candidate asked to be removed from Arizona ballots.
Kennedy is expected to deliver a speech in Arizona soon, which his campaign staff says will focus on "this historic moment and how he will move forward.
A few hours later, Trump will hold a rally in neighboring Glendale. The Republican candidate's campaign headquarters said he would be joined by a "special guest," but neither campaign responded to questions about whether Kennedy would be that guest, the AP noted.
