Russia has announced its intentions to open an embassy in the Dominican Republic, which, according to TASS, marks significant progress in the expansion of the Russian diplomatic network, reports News.bg.
The Russian government has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish an embassy in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The move is part of Russia's broader strategy to strengthen its diplomatic presence on the global stage.
Prime Minister Mihail Mishustin signed an official decree confirming the opening of the new diplomatic representation. The document instructs the Russian Foreign Ministry to finalize the key issues related to the number of diplomatic staff and the time frame for starting the embassy's activities.
Until now, diplomatic duties in the Dominican Republic were performed by the Russian Embassy in Venezuela. The establishment of a new representation in Santo Domingo underlines Russia's desire for deeper relations and direct dialogue with the Dominican Republic.
This diplomatic move is expected to create new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the development of their bilateral relations in various fields.
