Dubrovnik was hit by a strong storm with heavy rains, dariknews.bg reported.
Heavy rainfall flooded the coast of the residential area of Lapad. The water entered the houses. The views from the city are stunning – the whole town is under water, and a veritable torrent passed through the Pila area.
The Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, urged citizens not to leave their homes.
"Dear fellow citizens, extreme amounts of rainfall have flooded almost all streets in the city. All emergency services are on the scene. Unfortunately, that's not all. "Extreme amounts of rainfall are expected, which will cause a lot of problems, so please do not leave your homes unless it is urgent," he said, as quoted by HINA.
"Protect your property. Our emergency services will make every effort to help pump the water out of buildings, but at such extremes it is not possible to completely solve the problem of flash floods,” the mayor added.
