Russian air defense units have destroyed at least seven Ukrainian drones aimed at Moscow, and 59 of those weapons were shot down over the Bryansk region near the border with Ukraine, local officials said today, Reuters reported, citing BTA.

The unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the Lyubertsy and Ramenskoe regions of the Moscow Region, as well as in the city of Podolsk, Sobyanin said. Podolsk is located about 38 km south of the Kremlin.

The Russian channels "Shot" and "Base" in Telegram, which is close to Russia's security services, reported that flights at Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports were suspended while the drone attack lasted.

Alexander Bogomaz, governor of Russia's southwestern Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, said air defense units had destroyed 59 drones over the region overnight. There was no damage or casualties, he reported in Telegram.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine today summoned the chargé d'affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine, Shahriar Amuzegar, to express deep concern over the possible transfer of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia, Ukrinform reported. quoted by BTA.

It is noted that the "deep concern” of the Ukrainian side was expressed to the Iranian diplomatic representative in connection with the reports regarding the possible supply of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia.

"The relevant comment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine dated September 7 was conveyed to the Iranian diplomat with the strict warning that the confirmation of the supply of ballistic weapons by Iran to the aggressor state will have devastating and irreparable consequences for Ukrainian-Iranian bilateral relations," says in the comment.

As reported by the "Wall Street Journal" citing sources among US and European officials, Iran has sent its own short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. The publication notes that the transfer of ballistic missiles from Iran will give Moscow another powerful tool to use in the war against Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Iran to refrain from transferring any types of weapons and military equipment to the Russian Federation.

Ukraine has expressed disappointment with the claims of the pro-Russian prime minister of Slovakia that Kiev should take action to remove from its military ranks those he described as fascist elements in the Ukrainian army, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Robert Fizzo's call echoes Russia's arguments in its war against Ukraine, including the Kremlin's claim that with its invasion Russia seeks to “denazify” your younger neighbor.

In this regard, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "There is disappointment in Kyiv regarding the statement made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico regarding the Ukrainian soldiers, which is contrary to the existing level of trust and cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia.“

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said: "We all talk about fascism, Nazism, but nevertheless we silently tolerate the fact that there are units moving around Ukraine that have a very clear designation, that are connected to movements that we now consider dangerous and prohibited.“

Russia routinely calls Ukrainian leaders Nazis, Reuters recalls.

President Vladimir Putin referred to the need to rid the country of the Nazis from the very first day of the invasion in February 2022.

Fico's toeing the Kremlin line as the leader of a NATO country complicates the job of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who makes almost daily pleas to the North Atlantic alliance to provide long-range weapons and allow them to be used to strike targets on Russian territory.

Since the start of the war, Ukraine has sought to join the European Union and NATO, but Fico and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have opposed consensus on those efforts.

Russia criticizes the Ukrainian battalion "Azov” for its ultra-nationalist roots dating back to its creation to fight Russian-funded separatists in 2014.
