Putin Threatens Limits on Exports of Strategic Metals in Response to Western Sanctions - 1

Vladimir Putin has found a way to response to Western sanctions. The Kremlin threatens to limit the export of strategically important metals such as uranium, titanium and nickel, as quoted by Focus.

Forbes writes that the Russian president has instructed the government to prepare restrictions on the export of non-ferrous metals, which are in demand in the world – uranium, titanium and nickel.

"All in all, if it doesn't hurt us, then we might consider – not saying we have to do this tomorrow – to consider certain restrictions on the supply in the foreign market, not only of those goods which I have named, but also of some others," noted the Russian leader.

Other raw materials include natural gas, gold and diamonds, he pointed out.

"Russia is the leader in stocks of a number of strategic types of raw materials – for natural gas it is almost 22% of world reserves, for gold – almost 23%, for diamonds – almost 55%," he stressed.
