Biden: I don't think much of Vladimir Putin - 1

Joe Biden said in a meeting with the British minister -President Keir Starmer said he didn't think much of Vladimir Putin when asked about the Russian president's threat of war with NATO, PA Media and DPA reported, as quoted by DPA.

The two sat down in the Blue Room at the White House yesterday.

Starmer said the coming weeks and months would be “decisive” in Ukraine and stated that it is “important“ both countries to continue supporting the Eastern European country in its fight against Russia.

The meeting comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expresses his frustration with continued restrictions on the use of Western weapons against Russian targets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Ukraine were allowed to strike with long-range weapons, it “would mean that NATO countries, the US and European countries are at war with Russia [...] if that is so, then, keeping in mind the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will take the appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created for us”.

Asked what he thought of Putin's threat of war, Biden replied: “I disagree: I don’t think much of Vladimir Putin”.

Biden thanked Starmer for his “leadership” during the conflict in Ukraine and added: “I am very pleased: Putin will not win this war”.
