Ukrainian attack injures eight civilians in Russian city of Belgorod - 1

Eight people were injured in a Ukrainian attack on the border town of Belgorod in Russia, reports TASS, quoted by News.bg.

"According to preliminary information, eight civilians were injured. Of the injured, one woman is in an extremely serious condition, and another has injuries of varying severity," wrote the governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in "Telegram" and added that they were hospitalized.

In addition, a private home and over 15 cars caught fire as a result of direct hits. Fire department teams are working to extinguish the fires, Gladkov pointed out.

In recent months, explosions and attacks on infrastructure in the district have become a daily occurrence, with officials blaming either Ukrainian forces or pro-Ukrainian saboteurs.

A month ago, Russia was surprised after thousands of Ukrainian soldiers broke through the border in the Kursk region. It was the largest foreign attack on sovereign Russian territory since World War II.

Since then, neighboring Russian regions have been on alert for possible new attacks.

The Belgorod regional governor said that the authorities are taking measures to resettle residents of a group of villages near the border and pay compensation.
